Originally posted by VBFC 節錄自 世界女排大冠軍杯賽 Quote from World Grand Champions Cup China end on winning note Deposed champions China beat Poland 3-1 (17-25, 25-17, 25-19, 25-20) in the second match on the fifth day of the women's World Grand Champions Cup at Nagoya Rainbow Hall on Sunday. Poland faded after a bright start, and finished with a 1-4 win-loss record, while China jumped to 3-2. The Poles had certainly done their homework on the Chinese team, and there would be none of the free-flowing attacking which earned the Olympic champions victory over Japan the previous evening. In contrast, Katarzyna Skowronska continued to impress for Poland. She appears to be transported on invisible wires from the roof as she sails through the air before spiking down the middle of the court. Malgorzata Glinka brought up set point for Poland at 24-17 with a trademark kill on the left, and a rare mistake by her opposite number seven, Zhou Suhong, shooting into the net, gave Poland the first set 25-17. China improved in the second set, leading 8-3 at the first TTO. Li Juan, who has joined the squad from the National Games-winning Tianjin team, kept the Polish defence busy. China took a time-out, despite leading 17-11 in the second, and when that did not work, Li was replaced by power spiker Yang Hao. But it was Zhang Ping who carried China to the second set 25-17 with her persistence and precision. In the third set, a spectacular left-handed block on the run by Chu Jinling to deny Agata Mroz brought China to the second TTO ahead by two points, and they held six set points at 24-18. Li, rising high on the left, won it for them on their second attempt, 25-19. China's attack started to function smoothly in the fourth set, as Liu Yanan and the excellent Zhou came more into play, but the blocking of Skowronska kept Poland close. Trailing 15-11, Poland sent in Euro MVP Dorota Swieniewicz to try and salvage the situation, but the Chinese scented victory and, with Chu on fire, went on to win 25-20 on their third match point.
