United Arab Emirates finish top of pool D after sealing a 28-26, 25-22, 25-22 win over Hong Kong, China in the men's volleyball, although both sides
qualify for the next round following Palestine's withdrawal from the competition.
However they had to dig deep to overcome a spirited Hong Kong, China side, not least in a closely fought and lengthy opening set when the Emiratis
saved four set points before taking it 28-26.
Both teams matched each other spike for spike until Hong Kong, China went 24-21 ahead. This is where the UAE’s Hassan Rashed came to the fore though,
with two spikes followed by a winning block on his side’s first set point.
A serve into the net by Cheng Wai Ho Eric then handed the UAE the second set 25-22, easing any nerves after they had let slip three set points.
Hong Kong, China had led 4-1, but this ultimately became a 24-19 deficit as Rashed continued to be the game’s most dominant player with one block and
a series of spikes.
An error strewn third set riddled with service mistakes finally came to life with winning blocks from Saleh Ibrahim Mousa and Rashed with the score at
20-18 and it was left to captain Alamrei Saif to secure the straight sets victory with a spike down the middle.
UAE coach Veselin Vukovic said joyfully afterwards: “Congratulations to the Hong Kong team, they played a very good game. It was the first time we
had played together, which is a little difficult for everyone.
“Three or four of the players have played together before but this was the first official game for all of us. I was impressed with our technical and
tactical skills and as the tournament goes on hopefully we will get better.”

無睇過場波就唔應該評論咁多。
不過自己輸緊24:22重要開波落網，白白奉送第二局俾對手！
希望香港隊唔係好似今年"港澳埠際賽"咁。10 球 Jump-Serve 9 球開失。
