Day-1 (19-May-2007)
In the curtain-raisers between Host Malaysia and Hong Kong, hard hitting Kiew Chiong Ung from the host team scored 18 points to help the host side pick their first victory in Group A. The Malysian boys brushed off Hong Kong in straight sets (25-15, 26-24, 25-21) in more more than one hour.

Day-2 (21-May-2007)
In Group A, unbeaten Australia beat Hong Kong 3-0 (25-16, 25-11, 25-16) for its third straight victory. The Aussies used their towering height advantage to good use to frustrate the Hong Kong lads. The Hong Kong's head coach used 11 players in this match to unsettle the Australians.

Day-3 (22-May-2007)
In Group A, Japan defeated Hong Kong 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-12). Hong Kong, who is winless after their first two matches, found the Japanese team too hard to handle. Hong Kong could not match their opponents' solid attack and formidable defence and they continued their winless streak.

Day-4 (23-May-2007)
In Pool A, unbeaten Australia was unexpectedly defeated by Japan 3-1 and India beat Hong Kong 3-0 (25-12, 25-10, 25-9). The Australians started the match aggressively by winning the first set 25-17. However, Japanese fought back gallantly to win the next two sets with the score of 25-16 and 25-17. In the fourth set, both teams were engaged in point-to-point exchanges. Japan managed to secure the match by winning the set 25-23.

As India, Japan and Australia all collected 7 points with three wins and one loss, the point win/ loss ratio from their whole matches in the pool were taken into consideration to determine the ranking of the three teams. India collected 1.28 point ratio to be the top rank team.

Japan is the second rank team after securing 1.20 point ratio compared to Australia 1.18 point ratio. Malaysia with its only win against Hong Kong in the opening match is fourth while Hong Kong who is winless is rooted at the foot of the group.
